Why does getting out of chairs hurt my tailbone?

When I sit down on any type of chair for over 5minutes my tailbone hurts badly to get up. I don’t remember ever hurting my tailbone. So I can’t figure out why this started. It hurts sitting up from cushioned or wooden chairs but not my bed. Why does it hurt? How do I fix it?
I just remembered that I got told I had a slight scoliosis about 8months ago….Could it have gotten worse?

First thing I can think of is poor posture – you might be "lying" on the chair with all the pressure on your tailbone instead of sitting on the chair.
Check your posture, ensure you are sitting up straight with your lower back against the back rest of the chair and not on the "ass part" of the chair
Are you overweight? In which case the chair might be hurting too.
