Why do people put plastic on their couches?
Yeah I know its to protect them, but protecting them like that almost defeats the purpose of having a couch. Why don’t we just sit on a bar stool or a bench table, it would provide the same level of comfort. Also not to mention it looks terrible.
Are people so lazy that they can’t just find the effort to clean their couches when they get dirty? Or just ask visitors not to put their feet on the seats?
I think plastic covers on couches should be banned.
I think using a cloth would be a much better alternative. As said by angel undercover. Yeah and I forgot those squeaking sounds it makes when you move aaaah!

In case drinks get spilled by the drunk guests….
I am so with you but my grandma, is an avid "plastic buyer’! In the summertime, with sweaty legs, we all stick to her couch! LOL !
yes it does look bad but it does work. my grandmother had plastic on one set of furniture for years and years. When the plastic was removed it was in great condition, and then guess what ?? it started getting stained and worn down.
cuz there freaks…
AHA HA HA HA HAAAAAAAA!!
to prevent getting stains on the furniture
I agree with you, plastic covers look pretty tacky, and they definately do not make the couch any more comfortable! From what I’ve seen, the people who put plastic on their couches are people who have pets that constantly shed. It’s really rough to have to clean pet hair off all the time, and it also prevents the furniture from getting ruined incase the owner ever wants to sell the furniture or get rid of the pets.
In case a drink spills on the couch. But I use like cloth instead of plastic to cover my couch. When my cousin split her coffee in the couch cloth, I just took it to the wash and no more stain! The cloth can easily be removed of stains. And it didn’t harm my couch! I agree, putting plastic covers are so uncomfortable! It also looks terrible. Not proper at all. It also makes those annoying scrunch sounds when you move. So irritating!
Yes they so should be banned, they look terrible
,I knew a couple of homes with them, off limits to the kids, only for company.
The covers are supposed to come off for use then back on again when company leaves. Those homes even had velvet-chainlink barriers, omg.
Trailer trash in disguise people.
For some oddball reason it was a very popular thing to do in the `70s. (My grandma did it) needless to say it looked stupid as hell and was pretty uncomfortable. Supposedly it kept furniture cleaner but really whats the point of having the furniture if you can’t be comfortable and enjoy it?
