These chairs have been slid across the floor for years. Now there are black marks on the floor. Floor is linoleum and the chair feet are metal. Mopping doesn’t do much good, gets up the dirt, not the marks. Is it hopeless or salvageable?
How do I get THEM off. Sorry bout that
Provided they are actually marks and not scratches, spray with WD-40 and it should wipe clean! Works great for black scuffs from boots and such as well.
Try scrubbing it with a ‘mud’ made of Comet and water. that should get the marks off of your floor.
I have a similar problem with my metal chairs scratching the floor. I put those old fashioned self stick bathtub stickers on the bottom of the chair legs. You can’t see the bathtub appliques. You need to get the chair legs spotlessly clean and dry before trying to apply the bathtub appliques. Then they will stick pretty good and it doesn’t matter if they get a little wet when you mop.
Anyone who has ever tried to remove those appliques from the floor of an old bathtub, can tell you that they REALLY stick tight, in spite of getting wet.
Mr Clean Magic Eraser. I used it for getting marks like that off my floor and it really was like magic! Also it’s less abrasive than cleansers so you won’t get a dull scrubbed spot in the finish.
Perk. Put it directly on a sponge and scrub. That stuff takes out all kinds of stains from linoleum.
The Mr.Clean will work, but if you don’t want to use chemicals on your floors, I’d suggest using a steamer mop. Wrks great for removing marks on floors.
