Is there such a thing as upholstered furniture that comes apart?

We would love to put some nice comfy chairs in our movie room, which is in the basement. Unfortunately, this is an old house and the stairs to the basement are extremely narrow (like 28 inches). Where can we find furniture that comes apart to fit down the stairs, but looks like big comfy chairs?
Yes, there is a website called homereserve that sells upholstered furniture that you assemble. I recently bought a couch, (I had the same problem) I am very happy with the purchase and it was easy to put together.
I believe Futons are collapsible.
