How to clean bean bag chair covered in cat hair?

We have a white cat who sheds like crazy. We own two bean bag chairs made of washable materials, but they are absolutely covered in the cat hair. I want to unzip them from the bean bag and wash the covers but will this be okay for my washer and dryer? Any other ways/tips to clean cat hair from furniture? Thanks a bunch.
I would suggest vacuum the covers first then putting them in the wash! That way most of the hair will come of when you vacuum and what is left will not ruin your washer and dryer.
You can always use tape to collect the cat hair.
