Has anyone ever tried to import Scandanavian furniture from Scandanavia?How was it?Any suggestions?

I am referring to going to Scandanavia (Sweden or Denmark) buying some furniture (e.g. living room furniture, dining table and chairs) and shipping them back to the US. I hope to save some money and possibly get some furniture seldom seen in the US. How was your experience? Any suggestions, name of store(s) will be appreciated.
You might want to check shipping costs first. Unless your income is unlimited, you might be better off looking at stores here that specialize in Scandinavian furniture. There are many stores other than Ikea!
You can also look into getting a carpenter to make custom made furniture in the Scandinavian style. This might also be an option, rather than shipping furniture over.
