I would like to know if Hepatitis can be transferred through furniture, such as a couch or chair? My mother recently bought a couch off of a friend of hers whom, both her and her husband have Hepatitis. And honestly I don’t know what they may of done on that couch. Is it safe for normal use? sleeping on? Should she have it cleaned? if so how? Or should she just get rid of it? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated

just Lysol the dickens out of it (oops, spot test first, lol!) and don’t worry about it anymore. If you get it cleaned , it would probably look a lot better and you also have no worries about infection or what may have happened there before you sit on it.
I don’t blame you for a bit of worry, but really, you always want to disinfect anything you get secondhand.
p.s. Hepatitis does not survive long outside the body and needs to have direct access to other body fluids. So as long as there is nothing wet or sticky, your mom is fine. However, it is still a good idea to disinfect anything that you get second hand.
