Why does my dog dig at furniture?
In April I got a puppy, she is now about 6 months old and she won’t stop digging at the furniture. It doesn’t matter what type of furniture it is, it could be a chair, couch, bed etc. I can’t find out why she does it, does anybody have any help?
She is a Chiweenie (Daschund and chihuahua mix) and gets walked pretty regularily. She also gets lots of attention.
Does anybody have any humane ways to control her digging?

You have to let her out alone and dig if you have a fence.

maybe there is gold hidden inside and the dog is trying to get it out… maybe you should try digging into it also!
The dog is teething get some chew toys.
maybe you should give your dog some chew toys and maybe you should make a high pitched sqeack to distract her and then turn away to make her out of the illution of digging on your furniture. hope that helps =)
My one year old Deerhead Chihuahua does the same thing.
I think it’s just an act of releasing energy, or simply is trying to dig an actual hole.
He has plenty of toys and enough space to run around. So, I have no idea. D:
