What’s so great about leather furniture, particularly leather executive computer chairs?

Is leather really that great of a chair fabric? It seems to rip more easily and just seems generally not that great all around.

Leather is considered to be the highest status upholstery available. Good leather feels and smells great. I can’t stand the smell of some of the plastic upholstery.
I don’t have leather upholstery, because I live in Texas and even the best leather tends to stick to one’s skin when it’s hot. I have fabric upholstery. Leather shouldn’t rip easily, unless it’s not a good quality to begin with or unless it’s poorly cared for.
i just got a new leather computer chair, i almost slept in it the first night, leather can last forever if properly cared for, go leather!
It all depends on the quality of the leather. leather shouldn’t rip. It is one of the more durable materials used in covering furniture. You may have a moral obligation against leather. My daughter is vegitarian and won’t use leather products.
Leather is wipeable. Fabric stains and harder to keep clean. Roxanne
We’ve had our leather furniture for 11 yrs now, it wears like iron & is REALLY comportable! My big, comfy couch even has a brand (from a cow ) on it, how ironic-considering I did the room in a rug-id cowboy motif. Leather is cool in the summer & warms right up to you in short order in the winter. Guess it’s all in what you like…
