What makes a dog lick the floor and furniture?
I have a 3yr. old dog (lhasa and terrier mix). She has suddenly started licking the carpet, the furniture, the bedding. She licks our chair so much that when we get home from work, it looks like she has urinated on it. She is fixed and I don’t know if that would make a difference or not. She has been fixed for quite some time. She is housebroken and usually doesn’t like to go outside.

I’m not sure about that, but if you fined out please let me know ! My Jack Russell does that too, she is 6 years old. I put covers on my furniture & clean them every week, she even does this when they come right out of the dryer onto the furniture.. But I do know, it’s not because of food on my furniture like someone had said ! My baby is fixed too & I’m sure that’s not it eighter.. Please let me know what you find out..
What makes them do that i because they taste food!!! That is why dogs do that!
The dog is lonely and bored. They will fixate themselves on certains spots in the house, and lick it until… well… forever. You need to find something for her to do during the day while you are gone and the licking will stop.
the floor and furniture have your scent on it, so its farmiliar to them. you should b flattered!
there are many reasons why she’s licking it. she might taste food on it or she is probably bored on likes the smell or the furniture. give her a toy and a good pat, or something interesting to smell. licking is just one way dogs explore their surroundings. oh and she probably thinks you smell good too!
maby it wants icecream so bad its hallucinating
I think dogs are doing that for boring and they usually looking for something to play with or to chew with. There is a spray called "sour apple" which is available in pet shop.Use it on furnitures or sofa or whereever your dog is licking.
