What is a good defense against a bar stool?

What is a good defense against someone trying to clobber you over the head with a barstool? Or a chair? It happens in bars where I live.

Pick up your own stool, hold the seat and use the legs as the striking-point. Don’t hit your opponent with it, but use the legs to jab or hit your opponent’s stool. The purpose is to either knock it out of his hands or to shove his own stool against his body essentially immobilizing him. It depends on how your opponent holds his stool for how you will act. If he holds it above his head to attempt to bring it down on top of you, you can hit his stool to the side (like swinging a bat) to knock it out of his hands. If he is holding the stool at shoulder level or below, then push your opponents stool towards his body with your own stool and shove. You will either knock him over, or you will pin your opponents stool against his body, which will immobilize him either way. Once you have done either of these things drop your stool and move in for the attack quickly. Get in close, and pummel him with a flurry of punches and kicks and then shove him. He should go down pretty easy, because he will be unprepared after losing his stool/being pinned against his stool. Good Luck with your next night out.

The way I see it, as long as that person hoists a chair or barstool above the head, that leaves the chest and groin area wide open. Master those possibilities, Grasshopper.

As they raise the chair/bar stool over their head, you charge them while they are bringing it up and back. They can’t hit you if you are too close to them.
wear a helmet when you go out or just buy a gun, they won’t do i to you ever again after you shoot them

A pool cue, also found in bars and has a greater range.
Pressing charges so that person gets arrested for assault with a weapon, followed by a lawsuit with a good lawyer.
You can get that person in jail, and/or get money in a settlement.
Maybe, stay away from bars where u live? Just a thought.

Jam if you’re in close or step back if you’re more than arm’s length away. If they are holding the bar stool, they are pretty much committed to that weapon. They’re not going to be throwing punches, elbows, knees, kicks, or headbutts by someone who is holding a weapon with two hands. Capitalize on that and drive through their chest with an old fashion American football tackle.
Several things come to mind:
1) Stay away from these places
2) Stay seated on the stool
3) Move out of the way
4) Leave
What do you really want here? Best thing is to use common sense. To plan how to deal with being hit with a bar stool is just not smart thinking to start with.
Martial arts such as Taekwondo, Hapkido, Aikido, etc.
hit them before they can touch it. and just do the smart thing step out of the way and then clober em
