What height bar/counter stool should I buy?

My counter is 43 inchs off the ground. What is the recommended height difference between the stool and the seat and the counter?

The rule of thumb is 12 inches between the top of the bar to the top of the stool seat, but I prefer 14 as it gives a little more room to move.
So if the top of the bar is 43 inches you would want about a 28- 30 inch stool.
