what do you think of this point of view for the soprons ending?
Now this is just a theory…but you know I know a lot of gangstas of all
races and creeds…so this is what we came up with. But it was a group
effort! Thanks Gary!
He was killed….
in fact, the ending was genius if you’ve paid attention to the show or
are just a fan of well developed well thought out plots that all tie
together and have the memory of a champ to remember it all
the ending was simple, he got killed, but let me tell yall why and
explain in detail… There was 3 people in the room total who had a
reason to kill tony…..
the two black guys, they were paid before to kill tony but he was only
shot in the ear, this was in one of the earlier seasons,
also in the earlier seasons, the trucker who was sitting at the bar
stool, who the camera kept focusing in on, is Nikki leotardo, Phil
Leotardos nephew, he was in one of the early season episodes where Phil
and Tony have a sit down….
heres where the genius comes in….
When tonys walking in the diner, you see the camera focus on him, then
it switches to his perspective, and you see him looking @ the booth hes
gonna sit at…
then the camera switches back to tonys face, then it once again
switches to his perspective, and it shows him looking @ the door and
looking @ the people come in….. Everytime the door opens the Chimes
sound……. Carmela walks in, Chimes, AJ walks in Chimes, this when
Meadows parallel parking, still trying to get inside the restaurant….
at this point the camera switches back to the trucker who goes in the
bathroom……
Then it goes to a scene where meadow finally parks and starts running
in the diner….
the doors about to open, Tony looks up….
and No Chimes………………….
No Music…………
Everything just goes black……………
In one of the early episodes of the sopranos, tonys talking with bobby
about what it must feel like to die..
Bobby says "at the end, you probably dont hear anything, everything
just goes black"
part of that was revisited in the second to last episode during the
last seconds of it, when tonys about to go to sleep and he flashes back
to the memory of him and bobby on the boat… "You probably dont hear
anything everything just goes black"
so in the end, the Journey song was playing, the chimes on the door
sounded but when meadow came in, the guy in the trucker hat came out and
killed tony…
its the reason you aint hear, or see shit when he died…. it was from
his perspective…. and everything went black, then the credits rolled.
WELL, WHAT DO YOU THINK?!?!?

Nice theory but why so much muscle and where is the connection between the guys that you are talking about. Assuming you are right then they all have to be working together and that means they have something in common other than Tony. What is it?
Also, why wait until his family is there to kill him? They could have easily killed him before that.
I like the perspective thought but it maks no sense from a continuity angle being as many of the scenes we have watched to this point Tony could not have witnessed so why fade to black when others would have seen what happened?
Bobby was shot and we saw that. Phil was shot and we saw that. As long as anyone is alive to see what happened the bit about everything goes black makes little sense. I like it, but it makes little sense.
And just as a viewer, I want to know for certain who died. It is the oldest trick in hollywood, hide the body and you can not be certain if anyone died.
I thought those guys could have been feds and Tony was stuck in the middle either ready to be killed or arrested and given the trouble Meadow was having getting a parking space I would have thought arrested, RICO charges. Meadow was conveniently late because she was dating the son of the stool pidgeon.
i think it sounds really good i was mad that they ended that way because i had no clue what happened but thanks for sharing that it makes sense for sure
wow i didn’t know about that… but if it was true that is truly amazing…
wow.. your good because the way you put it makes a lot of since . i think most of America was stuck on how it ended and why would they end the show like this. You made me really think about all of the past season and things that i have missed. You should get paid for this. Thanks a lot
I think this is what happened:
Tony ate tacos with Paulie @ Roalie Apriles house, while Silvio Dante awoke from his coma and decide to leave the mob for Bruce Springstein and the EStreet band.
Aj finally realized he likes dudes and goes to hang out with Vito Jr hoping he takes after his old man. They face paint one another and watch documentaries on War in Afghanistan.
Meadow who can’t keep a man for more then 1 season dumps Patsie PArisis son and starts to date Ruben Studdard. Tony is furious about Meadows decision and disowns her.
Uncle Jr escapes from the mental ward and immediately flies to Italy where he finds Furio and gives him a well over due haircut.
The series ends with Tony eating a Supreme Grand Slam from Denny’s, while Carmella pours Blueberry maple syrup over her annoying voice box in hopes of muffling that god awful raspy voice.
I think if you can give exact shows and their title it would be more of a reality to believe your theory,(which is pretty good) but I think that they made to many obvious statements with the people looking over their shoulders and the fact that it was left up in the air. I think we will either see a made for HBO movie or possibly a new mini season. Hopefully.
The last part is definitely a possibility, but as far as the black guys go, well if they were hired to kill Tony a long time ago, whoever hired them is dead now, so they would have no motive to kill him.
That other guy was not Phil’s nephew. Phil’s nephew’s name was Nicky, and the guy in the restaurant’s name according to the credits was ‘Pablo’.
brilliant! i think you have it dead on, and you’re right…david chase is a genius. i think the black guys (from previous season) in the restaurant were just to build up the symbolism and climax. i know i was on the edge of my seat by that time. the only one in the place that really had a current motive was phil’s nephew. the beauty of the whole thing…when you go back and watch it again, the end just gets better (with better understanding…kinda like the movie, unusual suspects).
It sounds dumb. That wasn’t Phil’s nephew Nicky. The truck driver was listed as Pablo in the credits.
Those weren’t the guys that tried to killed Tony in season one because they are dead. They died while trying to kill Tony.
Somewhat interesting theory (I was forwarded this by a friend who was unhappy, to say the least, with the ending), but it is way off base. If you came up with it after just one viewing, it’s a good try, but if you watched the scene more than once, you would see that the trucker guy sat in a booth, and we only saw him when he came in and once more in his booth.
The guido-looking guy came into the restaurant right in front of AJ, and he, not the trucker, sat at the bar. The camera definitely went to him a few times. He is the one who went to the bathroom, and it is plausible that that guy might have been Phil’s nephew or whatever.
As for the door chime thing, this theory really falls off, because you definitely DO hear the bell when Meadow finally parks her stupid car. It is after this bell that Tony looks up, and then it goes to black. You only need to watch the scene two or maybe three times to see all of this.
