What are a few of the best laid back neighborhood gay pubs in San Francisco?
I’m in San Fran over labor day weekend. I don’t know anyone and I’d like to get out and explore, I’m looking for the best ***laid back neighborhood gay pubs***. A very relaxed atmosphere, maybe a sports bar. Someplace I can grab a bar stool, throw a few back and forget about the stress of my day job.

I second the two recommendations above, they are indeed the more laid back spots to check out.
Just a friendly FYI, i’m sure you’re not aware of this but the locals really can’t stand that nickname "San Fran" (sounds like nails on a chalkboard to our ears). I would hate for you to get any eye rolls for saying it
just call it San Francisco, The City, or SF if you need to abbreviate and you’ll do fine! Have fun!
The Mix on 18th at Castro
Marlena’s on Hayes at Octavia
The Cinch on Polk near Washington
The Pilsener on Church St, near Market St, although most bars will be busy that weekend. Another bar to consider is a lesbian/gay/neighboorhood bar on Cortland called Wild Side West. There is a wonderful porch there, and an amazing backyard garden with private benches, too! Not pretentious, very laid back, easy to start a conversation, but just as easy to chill out. Downside to Wild Side West is that it is not as convenient to the Castro or SOMA, but it is my favorite bar in SF
