We are remodeling our kitchen without the typical cabinetry. Can this be done?
I do not want cubpoards hanging on the walls, and I do not want the traditional cabinet/couners. The room is 25 x 15 combining dining room with kitchen, it is all open.
I want the walls to be open for art, and display of my awesome mug collection. I will have in the kitchen the following items:
1-bakers rack for microwave, etc
2-(3) 4 drawer tables to go in front of windows
3-special shelves for dishes
4-(2) solid wood 2′x2′ islands for work stations and storage of pots, pans, etc, they have two shelves under
5-traditional sink base
6-cabinet for oils, vinigars, spices, etc, coffee station will go on top
7-fridge
8-pantry with doors for food
9-3′x5′ island w/ bar and stools that has deep shelves with doors, and drawers to hold silverwear, etc
no dishwasher, I prefer to handwash
my husband stays "inside of the box", I can’t stand tradition, I am very creative. Everything is high quality wood that I will stain. Can this work?? Thanks!

It sounds like a really good idea but one suggestion i have is if u find that you don’t have enough storage floating shelves would be a good solution to give u a place to put things without using cupboards but it would only look good for things like dishes if their matching, cookbooks, or spices, things that aren’t "ugly" if you know what i mean. But i think its a great idea i hate most cupboards too.
Of course it can work! Sounds like some Ikea kitchen models. Look on their website.
