Someone gave me an old chair. Looks cool in a vintage way, but some of the upholstery is worn. This may be a dumb question. But can any idiot reupholster or do you need special training? Are there any cheap ways to cover furniture? For example, I did a search and found a lot of [...]

Ok one of my cats (layah a one year old Manx) got diarrhea and it got all over one of my kitchen dining chairs. There was also a nice mushy nugget on another chair. I clean the poop off the floor, and took a soapy hot sponge and cleaned the chairs (they have a fabric [...]

Ok I’m trying to reupholster a bar stool I have at my house. It’s a simple round pad, but I have a square piece of fabric that I’m going to use to cover it. How would I cut the fabric in a way that it will fit over the round edges of the stool with [...]

I have two vintage chairs and the fabric isn’t what it used to be but they just have a few spots that need to be cleaned, it isn’t worth spending big bucks getting them steamed by professionals but if they can look better I’d love it!

I just bought a table, 4 chairs, and matching china cabinet and would like help determining the value of it. I want to refinish it, but I want to make sure it’s not too valuable first. If you know a book or other resource that would be helpful, that would be great, too! The chairs [...]

I bought a bar stool from Walmart, and upon opening the package, saw that the seat cushion had a tiny, brown stain on it. I would take it back, but the spot is so small, and frankly, I hate Walmart. If I don’t have to go back, I won’t. The fabric on the seat seems [...]

I recovered my chairs in the kitchen and my kids wipe things such as mustard, ketchup and many other things on my chairs. I spend hours taking the chairs apart and uncovering them, washing them and then putting them back together. What is an easier way to get them clean and have a chair that [...]

Is leather really that great of a chair fabric? It seems to rip more easily and just seems generally not that great all around.

The wood frame of the chairs is a dark oak finish. the existing chair fabric is brownish tone. My dinning room walls are a light sage green color. I just don’t like the darkness in the brown tones of the existing fabric. I would like something lighter. I have wooden floors underneath, with a light [...]

I inherited a house that still has a number of my grandparents’ and great-grandparents’ furniture in it. There are a couple of wonderful and comfy easy chairs I’d love to use in my home, but the upholstery on both looks and smells dusty and moldy. The chairs have wood frames and arms, which are no [...]

Lysol wont help me, it doesnt seem safe for fabric, only hard surfaces, or air. But I need to disinfect my huge chair. My 8 year old spent a week on it and she was very ill. Are there any products I can use?
