My Stools have changed, could this be due to.?
28 year old male;
Ok, I used to eat lot’s of chocolate and cocacola! each day., I’m not over weight or anything, but as I said in my other questions, I may have suffered from a anxiety attack ( having a test on monday ) After this attack a month ago, I decided to cut down on cocacola and cakes and chocolate, and I have done pretty well, I may still treat myself to a can of coke and a bar of chocolate, but not like my habbit befor. It’s been a month and now my stool’s have changed, they look soft in texture and are mainly solid , but other times they seem to be much softer ( Not watery diarrhea ) they are also lighter brown, not to light just a lighter then normal. Could this be because I have cut down so much on the suga in take? I drink more fruit juice and eat bit more fruit.
Any Ideas?
I did write all this down and showed it to my GP the other day as I had to go see him in regards to my Anxiety and to get tested for it etc… but he did not ask any wuestions about it.
Help will be great ![]()
Stool’s changed in colour to a lighter brown , solid but with a soft texture.
24th March : Stools have returned to normal in colour but still soft in texture along with random times in total of 3 where they are more softer.

My mother is getting regular visits from a nurse, as she is on a hospice program. I sit in when the R.N. stops by, and pick up many things that pertain to myself, as well as my mom. The nurse emphasizes that the digestive system is directly linked to our emotions. In other words, the anxiety you’ve been having is probably affecting your eating habits, which of course, affects your BM.
You should still see your doctor if you don’t feel that you are well. If I may say, you are lucky that for the most part, you say your stool is soft. Forgive me for sounding crude, but the old joke about "S******* a brick is about something very, very painful.
It’s good that your stool is like that. I have always considered that as a sigh of cleansing of the organism.
You said that you’ve started drinking more fruit juice and started eating more fruit. Fruit has fiber in it & it’s the fiber that’s softening your stools in texture. This is good in preventing constipation.
if you are drinking enough water, your stools are supposed to be soft, and the color is really not an issue- if you eat too many peas, it will look greenish- it changes color all the time- different shades of brown- thats why the doctor wasnt worried about it- there is no problem.
My son was having trouble with is bowels also, I took him to a doctor that specializes in this, and what you eat effects what waste has to be removed from your body. So if you are changing your eating habits, your bowels will diffently change also.
