Is there a way to refinish a chrome bar stool so it’s not so shiny? ?

I’m an interior designer and have a client that just bought some beautiful bar stools, but the legs are a really shiny chrome and it stands out a bit too much. I’m wondering if there’s some way to either sand down the finish or paint it or something to dull down the extreme shine.

use an electric sander to dull all the shiny surfaces then use an oil based primer and then using an oil based paint apply 2 coats i’m going to suggest rust-o-leum paint in the color aluminum its the closest i’ve found to a brushed nickle finish. or if you’re just looking to tone them down you can try lightly rubbing them with 0000 steel wool.Sometimes when chrome is brand new it can look a bit garish but remind your client that it will appear less noticeable with time good luck
