I am putting my bed into the living room.Any tips on how to camouflage the bed so it blends with living room?
I have a huge living room so space won’t be a problem. I have a bar area and I sold the bar stools. Now in that area will go a queen bed. I am doing all this as I will have a new king bed in bedroom. I want it to look neat and not terrible.
As soon as you enter the apartment(1br and living room) there’s the kitchen on the left,a passage leading to a big living room.A china cabinet against the right wall, a tv with stand next to it.
On the left will be the queen bed, then the sitting area,a beige couch,a coffee table and off white shag rug, far end is a small dining table with four chair and huge french windows.
Now the curtains are a slate grey/cream so should I get similar bedsheets for the bed? or suggest something else please.
What about red or bright colored pillows for the couch and the bed so everything matches?

Make a daybed out of it. Push the bed so that on long side is against a wall. Buy some bolster covers and put your pillows inside those for day time. Make or buy a bed spread that looks more like couch fabric, maybe some muted stripes. Now when you make up your bed in the morning, pull the spread nice and even and taut all around. Tuck it in if needed. Put the pillows inside the bolster covers and zip closed. Place the bolsters evenly along the wall side to look like the back of a couch. Now when folks come in and look at it they will not be sure if it’s a bed or a couch and you just say its a day bed. In other words, during the day it’s a couch and at night it’s a bed. Problem solved.
may be make your bed into a sort of couch, by putting the bed against a wall and placing a lot pillows on it and maybe a nice throw to go with the colour scheme (if you have one) Hope this helps.
I know they sell headboards that go lengthwise alongside mattresses that make them look like couches.
Lots of lofts have beds in the living area. You could use a convertible couch that opens to a bed or a bed that folds up into a closet. Or if you already have the bed and there is enough room, curtain off the area where the bed is, or put a screen or a row of bookcases to act as a divider (IKEA billy bookcases are cheap). Happy decorating!
Put the bedstead lengthwise against the bed so that it will resemble a couch. Throw a comforter on the bed and upholster/throw some of matching or coordinating fabric on the bedstead. Finish up w/ scrolled arms-neckroll pillows might down and I hope that’ll ‘camouflage’ it!
I also have a bed in the living room. JC Penney has a very nice daybed set. The bolster pillows work really nice in making it look more like a sofa. My advice is plenty of pillows. It sure is more comfortable watching tv on my "sofa" .
