How can we get furniture from jumble sales and second hand shops to our house without a car?
We don’t have a car because we live in the city, and there’s a tram system everywhere, but I want to redecorate the house on a budget and I love old and antique furniture, so I need a way to get it home.
I only know one person with a van and I don’t want to ask for favors, so is there a cheap way I can transport large (tables, chairs) furniture instead?

Many places that sell furniture have a free delivery service.
Others charge a small fee.
And it’s customary to tip the delivery guys if they deliver it unscratched…
rent a van
If there is a Home Depot near you they have trucks you can rent for 90 minutes really cheaply. They intend them to be used by customers to bring home big stuff from their stores but don’t care if you take it for other kinds of errands. They are pickups, with ramps, and auto transmission.
check out couriers in your business directory.
Most folks that sell antiques have access to shippers that can deliver blanket wrapped. If you are located in the Continental USA, I can suggest very affordable shippers.
