Can you cut the legs of a brand new Bar Stool so it fits my desired counter height?
I Absolutely love this set of Bar Stools for my Counter. The challenge is that most standard Counter Stools have a seat height of 22-24 inches and most Bar stools have a standard seat height of 30-32 inches. The Seat height that I desire for my particular counter is 27 inches exactly and I cannot find any stool on the entire web that I like AND matches those seat height specs. My specific question is: Can I purchase the stool I love with a 30 Inch height and have the legs cut down (re-sanded and finished) to 27 inches or will that look awkward?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

A joinery/carpentry workshop will be able to set up a saw so they are all cut to the same length.
If they are competent there should be no need for any sanding and refinishing.
Oh, if they are metal, you will need to go to a metal shop.
yes it can be done…i suggest an experiencd woodworker do the work to insure perfect cuts and finishing
I was able to cut 2 inches off a set of bar stools that where catching on the bottom of the bar. The only concern would be to watch out for the foot rest hight, if your stools have one.
I set up a jig for a chop saw to make sure the cut lengths were the same.
Absolutely. I do this for customers regularly. The only glitch is to make sure the cut is not going to leave an awkward or funny looking leg. I cut these by hand and never have them wobble, unlike the ones I saw last week that were cut by a power tool and looked and worked awful.
visit http://www.barstooldesigns.com – TONS of really cool modern stools as well as more traditional ones. You get to pick your metal finish and choose a fabric. Plus, they will make it at the height you need! It’s basically a custom stool at great price.
