Any tips for removing stains from felt?
I bought a bar stool from Walmart, and upon opening the package, saw that the seat cushion had a tiny, brown stain on it. I would take it back, but the spot is so small, and frankly, I hate Walmart. If I don’t have to go back, I won’t.
The fabric on the seat seems to be felt (very velvety, and of course, white). The spot looks like hot chocolate, or something similar. I’m afraid to wash it with soap and water, because I don’t want to make it worse. Would bleach work?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If its very velvety its probably a synthetic pile fabric and if so it will be quite tough. Whatever you do don’t bleach it! If you do try to remove the stain, rub from the outside towards the centre of it to avoid any risk of it spreading. A white pile fabric on a stool is going to need frequent cleaning anyway so you might as well risk it now as later. Try using one of those stain removing bars that look like soap. You dampen it a bit and rub it on the spot. Leave it for a while (say 10 min) and then wipe it off with a damp cloth.
But if its a really tiny mark do you think anybody will notice it?
I would not use bleach. Try a carpet/stain remover or if its
got a sticky feel try goo-gone. You can buy it at WalMart,
Kmart, or hardware stores. Good Luck. Terry
