Advice on a junior cert woodwork bar stool project!?
I am making a bar stool for an exam woodwork project for the junior certificate. It has to have a secondary function ‘designed for the area in which the stool is to be used’ also it needs to be build-able in about 3 hours so not to complicated. I am looking for ideas as to a secondary function and also any good ideas as to the stool itself i was thinking something simple like this:

thanks in advance for any advice on the matter, Jake

When you say bar stool…I think of an actual kitchen bar that someone would eat at when they aren’t having a family dinner at the table. And speaking from a woman’s perspective–I think it would be nice if you could put a back on the stool..and on the back of the back put some kind of rack…for decorative towels that match the kitchen decor, or paper towels for convenience. This would look best if the rack itself is a round rod, and the entire stool is stained similarly to the one in the link. If I found a set of stools like this…I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
oh my god! we are making the same project how freaky!
i was just about to ask the same question! i was thinking a small stool with a little lid and i might carve something up the legs of it. i will probably use some biscuit joints and mortise and tenons, how about you?!
