About my character walking into a bar?
Adventure/humor/fantasy story.
My character is an impulsive, tough guy. he had been asking all over about a monster rabbit, while searching for it. He walks into a bar to get a drink and the bartender asks him what brings him here since he’s not from around there. He asks about a monster rabbit that he’s looking for. One of the men quiets them down and lets my character explain. He also describes his dreams which ties in with this a little. When he’s done, the man tells him its bs and laughs along with everyone else and puts down his dreams.
Out of these two options, which should I use following this?
Option 1: The main character laughs the guy off or something and tells the bartender to give the other guy a round. The character goes ahead and leaves. Later on, the guy from the bar confronts him, but gets beat up.
Option 2: As everyone laughs, my character laughs with them. He then kicks the other guy’s stool over and makes him hit the bar. He then punches him across the room, making everyone shut up. My character slaps his money on the counter and then leaves. The man confronts him later for revenge, but its not a problem.
Note that my main character has been looking forever and doesn’t have time to mess around about it. This also takes place in chapter 3.

How about 1, but the character flips a grenade over his shoulder as he approaches the exit door, and mutters "tell the rabbit."
If you’re going for crazy, go the full 9 yards.
